Shri N. S. Nahar, is son of highly mechanical minded Father (late) Shri B.S.Nahar and very religious Mother (late) Smt. Sunder Bai.
As a student of Agra College, Agra he had his education from the Professors of outstanding international repute-like Dr. A.K. Mukherjee (Physics), Dr. A.K. Bhatacharya (Chemistry) and Dr. M. Ray (Mathematics).
He graduated with distinction in Mathematics and a rank in the University Merit List. While in service, he completed AMII Chem E by studying at Home without any coaching or tution.
His extra curricular activities included debate, drama, sports, painting, music, photography and social service with equal success, during school days and also afterwards.
As Chief Chemist of M/s. Shiva Scientifics and Chemicals and Consultant of Sudbury Laboratory and Ferro Corporation, he was actively associated in process developments for import substitution products.
As Scientific Officer and Assistant Works Manager of Hindustan Salts Limited (A Govt. of India Undertaking) he was site Engineer of Bromine Recovery Plant (on behalf of HSL).
As an expert on behalf of Govt. of India, he imparted training on Iodization of salt to scientists from Tanzania (1983) and Zambia (1985) under the UNIDO sponsored programmes. Inspite of being a graduate of science faculty, he has authored books on Economics and Home Science (ICSE Classes).Even now his innovative mind remains engrossed in solving typically difficult problems. He was Selected as scientific officer in Atomic Energy Commission in 1966 , but could not join because of his mother's death.
